LiveClass is our own product. It’s a school management platform for schools that teach online on Zoom or in person, covering enrolment, fees, lessons, attendance, homework, reports and one portal that parents actually use. We designed it, built it and run it ourselves, and real schools rely on it every day.
A school that has grown past a hundred pupils is usually held together by software that was never meant to run a school. A form for registrations, a spreadsheet for fees, a card payment link, Zoom links pasted into a group chat, a separate homework app. Each tool works. The gaps between them are where the day goes.
Fifty more children means a bigger spreadsheet, more payments to chase and more messages to answer. We built LiveClass so a school can run all of that from one place, and so the office stops being a help desk for questions a parent could answer from their phone.
WHAT WE BUILT
A parent applies and pays by card in one go. Monthly invoices, sibling discounts and overdue reminders then run themselves.
Every child gets their own Zoom link. It opens a few minutes before the lesson, and an old or shared link simply won’t work.
Joining the lesson is the register. Zoom reports the minutes each child attended, and parents hear about a missed lesson the next morning.
Tasks set, handed in and marked on the same screen, including worksheets pupils write on and teachers mark over in the browser.
A markbook for each class, with AI drafting each comment from the pupil’s real term and the teacher approving it. Grades are never AI.
One sign-in for all of a family’s children. Add it to the home screen for your school’s icon and real push notifications, with nothing to download.
A parent writes in their own language and the office reads and replies in English. Both versions of every message are kept.
Eligible colleagues are invited automatically, the first to accept takes the class, and the cover is logged for the pay run.
Attendance, payments, homework and messages are read together into a short daily list of the pupils who need attention.
The details are where a school system earns its keep. If a family is too far behind on fees, the lesson button explains why and points them to the office rather than showing a broken link. The moment the payment clears, the next click works, even at eleven at night.
Attendance works the same way for staff. Lessons taught, joined on time and joined late all come from the meeting itself, and that feeds the pay run. Schools that teach in a room get the same records from a tablet register, with the same absence emails and Monday summary.
AI is there to save time, under firm limits. Lesson recordings are summarised and searchable, and drafts wait in the office inbox, but every feature is metered under a monthly cap and none of it acts alone on a child’s record, money or a safeguarding matter. It drafts and staff decide.
We designed the sales website too, at liveclass.school. Every screenshot on it is photographed from the running product, not drawn in a design tool, so a school sees exactly what it would be given. There’s a French version as well, plus a blog for people running online schools.
LiveClass also sits behind real school websites. For The Forerunners Education we built a custom website with its enrolment and sign-in connected directly to the platform. A school can keep the website it has, or let LiveClass host its public pages and waiting list as well.
LiveClass runs on our own servers in Germany rather than a patchwork of third-party apps, and we migrate each school’s pupils, families and classes and train its staff before going live. Weekend schools and madrasahs face the same admin as full-time online schools, which we cover in what a weekend school needs from management software.
