Samarkand Turkic Bakery is a handcrafted Uzbek & Turkish home-baked-goods business in Tetouan, Morocco — flaky meat samsa, golden Turkish pide, fresh Uzbek breads and honey cakes, all made from traditional family recipes. They needed more than a brochure site. They needed a full ordering platform that could take weekend orders in three languages, run the kitchen behind the scenes, and grow with them. We designed, built and continue to operate that platform end-to-end.
Samarkand bakes for a community that speaks English, French and Arabic — sometimes all three in the same household. The catalogue runs deep, from samsa and borek to pide, gozleme, simit and seasonal cakes. Off-the-shelf storefronts couldn’t do it justice: they couldn’t mirror the entire site in Arabic with native right-to-left layout, they couldn’t handle weekend-only delivery windows, and they had no answer for the kitchen workflow that actually fulfils the orders.
We were asked to build something more like a tailored platform than a website — one that runs the storefront, the order book, the loyalty programme and the day-to-day kitchen ops, in all three languages, with as little manual content work as possible.
Rather than stitch together a generic e-commerce theme and a translation plugin, we built a custom storefront and back office tuned to how the bakery actually trades. Customers browse and order in the language they choose; the kitchen plans, costs and fulfils in the same system; and the marketing, loyalty and reporting layers all sit on the same data.
Highlights of the engagement:
WHAT WE BUILT
Full English, French and Arabic storefront with native right-to-left layout — every page, product, email and confirmation mirrored in all three.
Paste one paragraph and the system extracts the product name, description and allergens, ready in all three languages — no copy-paste cycle.
Email-verified customer accounts, 5% cashback on every order, automatic review requests and a complete history of each customer’s purchases.
Calendar-based booking that respects weekend fulfilment windows, blocked dates and capacity — customers only see slots the kitchen can actually deliver.
Daily prep cards, production planning, ingredient costing and auto-generated shopping lists — the order book and the kitchen run on the same data.
A private chat assistant gives the owner a live read on orders, sales, customers and revenue — no need to log in to a dashboard for a quick check.
Plan and publish to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X from one place, with AI-generated trilingual captions and on-brand 1080×1350 visuals.
A modern editor with built-in SEO panel and an AI writer that drafts full articles, titles and meta descriptions ready to translate and publish.
Automated WhatsApp and email confirmations in the customer’s chosen language, plus printable QR table stickers for scan-to-order at events.
Samarkand can now add a new product, ship a blog post or run a promo across three languages in a fraction of the time it would take on a generic stack — without ever opening a translation tool. The kitchen, the storefront, the customer list and the marketing all live in one place. As the bakery grows, the platform grows with it: more products, more languages, more channels, same single source of truth.
